Defenses: Witnesses

           Absolute witness immunity did not protect officer against civil rights lawsuit based on allegations that he initiated and gave false testimony in a driver's license revocation proceeding Owens v. Keazer, 795 F Sup 372 (D.Kan 1992).
     Prior felony conviction may be used to impeach witnesses in federal civil lawsuits without a balancing of "prejudicial effect" Green v. Bock Laundry Machine Co, 109 S.Ct. 1981 (1989).
